Meet the kings of Northumbria, explore the kingdom’s transformation from paganism to Christianity, and find out how it later faced the threat of Viking invasions. You’ll also discover why Northumbria became a centre of extraordinary artistic, literary, and theological achievement, thanks to the monastery of St Paul’s and one remarkable scholar: the Venerable Bede.
