Event Details
As part of Heritage Open Days 2025 we are open for free on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September, with events and activities across both days.
Take part in our hands-on wattling workshop to find out how wattle and daub walls were made or attend a tour of the museum and its collections with a special focus on architecture. Little ones can stretch their imagination with special themed crafts and hands-on activities, including building with our Lego sets or foam blocks.
Join our Research, Education and Learning Service Manager, archaeologist Dr Marco Romeo-Pitone, to learn about his work in palaeoarchitecture, followed by a guided tour of our demonstration village to see how these buildings were reconstructed and brought to life through experimental archaeology. Head over for a guided tour at St Paul’s Church to learn about the church’s history and the Anglo-Saxon monastery, and catch a glimpse of our JAM excavation on your way through the park.
