What is a typical school visit to Jarrow Hall like?
Jarrow Hall is a Museum and Farm with a collection of re-construction Anglo-Saxon buildings. School visits typically run between 10.00am-14.30pm. The visit will be led by a member of our expert Education Team, unless you opt to visit on a self-led basis. As part of a full-day led visit, your group will take part in a tour of the farm and village, culminating in a telling of Beowulf around the fire in our Thirlings Hall. The afternoon consists of two workshops which can be chosen from our prospectus. A full-day visit lasts until 14.30pm. Half-day visits last between either 10.00am-12.00pm or 12.30pm-14.30pm.
Is a lunch space provided?
If you opt to visit for a full-day visit, lunch space will be provided. If you opt to visit on a self-led or half-day basis, lunch space is available to book – this is subject to availability.
Is coach parking available?
Yes, we have a large carpark across the road from the museum, which can comfortably park coaches. This carpark does require crossing a road, however, there is a set of traffic lights leading from the carpark to the museum.
