We caught up with Laura a few weeks ago to chat about her plans for the year ahead, from running public workshops to processing natural clay from our archaeological site. Laura is here until early 2026, when work developed here both her and the public will culminate in an exhibition at Jarrow Hall.
Laura Marley is an artist and ceramicist based in the North East of England, having trained in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art and Design and at Sunderland University MA Glass and Ceramics. Looking at what objects tell us about past environments, cultures and events, Laura uses clay and the process of turning material into new objects to explore how we can learn about our current environments and selves.
