Far from being the “Dark Ages”, Early Medieval times were a Golden Age in Northumbria and Jarrow was a centre of learning, bringing ideas and technology from around the known world!

Regia Anglorum – St. Cuthbert’s Land

Regia Anglorum group, St. Cuthbert’s Land, will be joining us in our Anglo Saxon Village at Jarrow Hall. As part of our Colour In the Anglo Saxon world theme, they will be demonstrating textile dying, amongst other things! Book your timed slot HERE

Curious Collections: Join us in the museum as we take a closer look at our Glass collection, including the largest collection of Anglo-Saxon coloured window glass in Europe! Learn about archaeology and how we can reconstruct the past using what has been left behind. Did you know the Anglo-Saxons reused quite a lot of natural materials?
