Volunteer with us
September 2025 Update
Places are now open again for volunteering at Jarrow Hall. Please see below for ways you can get involved and how to apply.

Make the difference and volunteer with us!
We offer a wide range of volunteering roles at Jarrow Hall. If you are a fan of history and re-enactment, you may wish to be part of our Living History group and help bring our Anglo-Saxon farm and village to life! We also have opportunities to volunteer within our Visitor Services Team, working front-of-house or on the farm to help take care of our animals. You can support our Collections Team, looking after our archaeological heritage and help with the delivery of our Education Programme for schools.

What do Volunteers gain from the programme?
We aim to meet the needs of all our volunteers and work hard to find suitable roles that provide rewarding experiences for all. We have a wide range of skills and expertise amongst our team of volunteers and are always looking for more people to get involved. Volunteers at Jarrow Hall stand to gain benefits and opportunities, including;
- Learning about the history and heritage of the local area
- Being part of a dedicated team of volunteers
- Making new friends and getting involved in social activities
- Learning new skills and experience to include with your CV and job applications
- Sharing your own skills, knowledge and experience with our visitors, colleagues and volunteers.
