We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have just been awarded £249,188 of support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to launch our Jarrow Archaeological Mission (JAM) project. JAM will officially reopen the archaeological investigations in Jarrow, exploring Drewett’s Park, in the close proximity to the Jarrow Monastic Site, continuing the legacy of the late Dame Rosemary Cramp.

The project will engage local communities and create inclusive opportunities for residents, volunteers and students helping our museum to uncover a missing part of Jarrow’s history.

A huge thanks to #NationalLottery players! #HeritageFund
