Event Details
The village comes to life on Sunday 21st September as we celebrate the autumn equinox and the beginning of the harvest season in Saxon style. Settle down in Thirlings, our magical mead hall, to meet some of our Anglo-Saxons throughout the day as they showcase their traditional skills and discuss vegetables, herbs and farming in medieval times.
Over in the museum, our artist in residence, Laura Marley, will be leading drop-in clay workshops open to all, using natural clay harvested and processed from our museum grounds.
And also on site during the festival are reenactment group Regia Anglorum, displaying typical medieval combat techniques.
