Home Education Taster Sessions

Our education team here at Jarrow Hall are opening up some of our school workshops for home educators to book onto as taster sessions.  

These sessions will run twice daily at 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm on 15, 16, and 17th December. Please pick one session per day to attend.

The sessions will run as follows (am & pm sessions available):

Monday 15th December – 1.5 hour Anglo-Saxon farm visit, with a fire and Anglo-Saxon story in Thirlings Hall, (followed by 30 minutes self-led exploration of the indoor museum) 

Tuesday 16th December -1 hour Anglo-Saxon Clothing and Textiles workshop (followed by self-led exploration of the farm and then the indoor museum)

Wednesday 17th December – 1 hour Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms and Battles workshop (followed by self-led exploration of the farm and then the indoor museum)

ONLINE BOOKINGS ONLY

£10 per child, per session 

(max 10 children per session)

Sessions are aimed at KS2 children, but are also suitable for KS3 children.

*Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session and participants must exit the museum upon the completion for their workshop.

As these events are operating during our museum winter closer period, the museum will not be open to the public, and there will be no large school bookings on these days. This will provide a quieter atmosphere for our home education learners.
