Museum Artist Commission at Jarrow Hall

About the Commission

Groundwork South and North Tyneside in partnership with South Tyneside Council Cultural Development, are excited to announce the commissioning of a piece of community engaged visual, sound or film work that will celebrate place, increase art and cultural engagement and increase collaboration between the arts and museum service.

We’d like to invite visual, sound or film artists who are passionate about community engagement to create a piece which will be displayed at Jarrow Hall Museum in creative response to the museum and its collection.


Budget
The fee for this commission is £5000 (inclusive of materials, community engagement work, production and installation). More details can be found on the artist brief below.

Read carefully, the attached artist brief before sending an initial proposal outlining your approach and ideas – no more than 2 sides of A4, or a 2 minute video (sent via WeTransfer).
Please send an outline for the community engagement aspect as part of the commission also, further details can be found on the brief.

This commission will be advertised until Wednesday 30 March 2022 with shortlisting taking place 4 April, and interviews being held Tuesday 12 April 2022.
